Money Saved Canceling Subscriptions

Money Saved Cancelling Subscriptions
Money Saved Canceling Subscriptions

Money saved cancelling subscriptions is one of the fastest wins you can get without changing your lifestyle. I didn’t earn more this month. I stopped the quiet charges draining my account. A quick look at my bank statements showed how many subscriptions were billing me for things I barely used.

Most of them were small. Easy to ignore. But stacked together, they were eating my budget every month, so I canceled them. No fancy tools. No complicated system. Just cutting what no longer made sense.

If you’ve ever checked your balance and felt confused, you’re not alone. How many subscriptions are hitting your account right now? And how much money could you save by canceling subscriptions this month?

That’s exactly what I broke down here at Midwest Money Savers—and the total surprised even me.

The Subscriptions and Charges I Let Go

Xfinity Mobile Coverage – $15/month
I paid off my cellphone and was due for an upgrade. It made sense to delete the coverage because the phone was archaic!

Cell Phone Payment – $8/month.
Yes, I know this is not a subscription. This one was long overdue.

Credit Repair Master Class Course – $93.42/month
This one was a Master Class I purchased for my business on a payment plan. Once the balance was paid, that monthly charge ended.

Kovo – $10/month
This one actually helped me. Kovo gave me a $1,000 line of credit to help rebuild my credit. My credit is in a much better place now, so I don’t need it anymore.

Stay Sharp Subscription – $15/month.
issor sharpener in my area. I didn’t like having to ship my expensive scissors via USPS Ground to the Hanzo company in California. I used Jerry Van Horn at Sharper Edge for years and was totally happy.

Paramount+ (through Walmart Plus) – $65/year
I’ll watch the commercials. I couldn’t justify paying $65 a year for commercial-free viewing.

So… How Much Did That Actually Save Me?

When I added everything up, this is what it came out to:

  • Monthly savings: $146.84
  • Yearly savings: $1,762.04

That’s almost $1,800 a year just by paying attention.

Why This Matters More Than People Think

Most people look for ways to make more money. They skip the part where money is quietly leaving their account every month. Subscriptions feel small; add them together, and they’re not. You need to ask yourself: When did I last use this? Would I sign up for it again today? Am I keeping this out of habit?

If you’re hesitating on the answer, that’s your answer!

If You Want to Do the Same Thing

Open your bank app and search for recurring charges. Just be honest with yourself. You don’t need to cut everything. You need to cut what no longer fits your life. If I can free up $1,762 a year without feeling it, what’s hiding in your account right now? Canceling subscriptions put real money back in my pocket fast. No stress. No sacrifice. Just better choices. If this post pushed you to check your own charges, do it today. Even one canceled subscription adds up over a year.
