Metra Offers Free Rides to Ravinia Festival Concertgoers This Summer
Free Metra Ravinia Rides are available this summer thanks to a new partnership between Metra and the Ravinia Festival. Metra is offering free train service to concert attendees throughout the 2025 season, making travel easier and more affordable for music lovers across the Chicago area.
Free Train to Ravinia – How to Ride for Free
If you have a ticket to a Ravinia Festival concert, you can ride Metra’s Union Pacific North Line to and from the event at no cost. Present your concert ticket or e-ticket to the conductor on the day of the performance. This offer is valid for all concerts during the festival season, which runs from June 6 through August 31, 2025.
Convenient Access to the Festival
Metra’s Union Pacific North Line runs between Chicago’s Ogilvie Transportation Center and Kenosha, Wisconsin. The line includes a special stop at Ravinia Park Station, located directly at the entrance of the festival grounds. This station operates exclusively during concert events, providing attendees with direct access to the venue. Additionally, the nearby Braeside Station is just a short walk from the park and offers alternative arrival and departure options.
Enhanced Train Service for Concert Nights
To accommodate festival-goers, Metra has adjusted its schedule to include additional stops at Ravinia Park Station on concert nights. On weekdays, trains will begin stopping at the station starting at 5 p.m. Weekend service will commence mid-morning and continue throughout the day when events are scheduled.
